One of my favorite cafés in the Boston area is located right in Brookline, an establishment called Café Fixe. I’ve been a frequent visitor over the years and I can attest, the quality has not changed. Consistency is the hallmark of this café; the coffee is just as good as the first time I was there 15 years ago. This is because they have been using the same roaster, Barrington Coffee Roasting Company, since its inception. You can find them in many coffee shops in the Bay State.
This small, neighborhood café takes coffee seriously, a trait I admire when searching for the perfect cup. It’s located right on the main drag in Brookline and also serves muffins, cookies and pastries. The café feels intimate with counter space and stools to max out seating, along with a few sidewalk tables. Complimenting the coffee is smooth jazz always playing in the background, creating a lovely ambience to sit, sip, bask and converse. If you are looking for a great espresso or pour over in Brookline, this is your destination.
