I walked up to the café only to find that it was overrun with coffee lovers. It is my type of crowd, but I was looking for a more peaceful setting. Onto the next establishment where a sign was posted: “Closed for family event.” I was forced to continue on my way to the third time is a charm café. I opened the door and noticed the floor was freshly mopped and the stools were upended on the counter. I was greeted with “Sorry, we closed early.” I inquired why. He replied with a smile, “Because we did.” To quote Inigo in The Princess Bride, “Back to the beginning Vizzini!” After traipsing about town, I arrived full circle to find that my first choice had cleared out—so much so that I was able to procure a nice booth by the window. So, what is the moral of this little tale? When in doubt try, try again? Don’t give up? Patience is a virtue? You reap what you sow? All of the above? Whatever it is, live long and prosper.
